Did you know that you can’t export Typeform to PDF? It’s true! But Formidable Forms makes it easy to create PDFs from WordPress surveys and forms!
Approximate read time: 5 minutes
Whether you’re already a Typeform user or are just thinking about using it on your website, there’s an important thing to know: there’s no built-in way to download Typeform results as a PDF. You can’t export Typeform questions to PDF either.
Surprising, right? ?
This seems like a basic need for any business or blog using WordPress forms on their website.
We here at Formidable Forms think it’s an essential feature too, and that’s why we’ve made it really easy to export your form entries as PDFs.
Let’s take a closer look at how you can easily get around Typeform’s data portability problems.
? You really can’t download Typeform as a PDF?
Nope, there’s no simple solution to turn Typeform forms into fillable PDF forms or even to download Typeform responses as a PDF.
Typeform does not have a PDF export option.
It is not possible to export a Typeform response as a PDF file and there’s no button to download a PDF summary of your responses. ? You could create a CSV to export your Typeform survey results to Google Drive or Excel, but there’s no way to make Typeform generate a PDF.
Want to download a Typeform questionnaire as a PDF? The only way you can is by doing a JSON export and then doing some monkey work to convert the form to PDF. Sound complicated? It is. And time-consuming too. ⌛
So why won’t Typeform export data or output files to PDF? ? Some users have speculated that they want to limit the ways you can turn Typeform into PDF because it would make it easy to export data in real time.
If users could do that, perhaps you could sign up for a Typeform account for a short period, run a survey, then find your answers in a PDF when you need them. ?
Seems like a longshot to us! Nevertheless, this feature has been hotly demanded and strangely absent from Typeform for a long while.
? A better way: use Formidable Forms to export to PDF
Formidable Forms makes it easy to create surveys, forms, and questionnaires in WordPress. Plus, you can auto-generate PDF documents from form entries.
You can automatically email the PDF as an attachment too. ?
And, unlike Typeform, Formidable also comes with a drag-and-drop form builder. Plus, there’s no need for API keys and third-party apps. Our PDF plugin does everything by itself!
But can Formidable Forms make forms that show one question at a time (aka conversational forms)? It sure can! ✅
Formidable lets you create all kinds of forms in WordPress, including conversational forms (like Typeform), basic newsletter subscription forms, and product recommendation quizzes.
Typeform, on the other hand, only lets you make one type of form: conversational forms.
