First, an apology...
We're sorry it's been so long since we last let you know what we're up to. There's been so much going on, that we have trouble finding the time to tell you about it. We're working on finding someone to keep on top of our blog and newsletters so you'll always be in the loop. We also want you to know we're hard at work, making the best form plugin even better every month.
The Personal Stuff
You may already know our team is small. We have two part-time and three full-time members of our team. Those 5 team-members cover 4 families. 2 of those 4 families are expecting new babies in the coming months: Robert's family and the Wells family (that's me).
I'm planning on a solid two months of bedrest here coming up in May. That means I'll have all day, every day, with nothing to do but come up with new add-ons and overhaul current features. Don't tell Steve I said this, but I am kind of looking forward to it. The last time I got bedrest, you got multilingual forms, Google graphs, multiple day events, Highrise integration, the Signature add-on, and two Formidable versions that had far too many enhancements to be labeled as point releases. You never know what you may get.
But back to the "here and now"
We've been hearing from you, that you want to hear more from us. So how about an update on what's going on right now?
We made some major changes to our site over the past few months. We replaced our custom licensing and plugin updating code with Easy Digital Downloads. You may have noticed some of the road bumps this huge data migration caused. These bumps have since been smoothed out, and the automatic updating issues appear to be resolved since v2.0.19. You can read more on these changes in our blog.
New add-ons introduced
Since these licensing changes have been in place, we've been able to release several new add-ons.
The new PayPal add-on was the first of this new batch. It includes recurring payments, and options to make automatic changes to your entries after the payment is completed.
PayPal was soon followed by a Bootstrap Modal add-on. This add-on has taken a direction we didn't plan, thanks to input from those using it. It was originally designed to be used with forms. But then why not views too? And once it could handle both forms and views, we realized there was no reason to limit it to Formidable. Now you can use any shortcode from any plugin in this modal.
Last, but not least, Woocommerce integration is now available as the first plugin in our Elite collection. Keep an eye out for a more official blog post on that plugin.
New levels of licensing and support
A Powerful new field type is on the way
We've also been working on the core plugin of course. We are working on v2.01, and Jamie has done some amazing work on a new field type: the Lookup field. It can do some crazy things. It's an incredibly smart field type that seems to be able to read your mind.
First, it covers cascading fields much more simply than Dynamic Fields. You no longer need multiple forms to create the relationships between entries. One form with the country, state, and city can smartly and efficiently populate your cascading fields.
Next, it can fill text fields and other field types in a breeze. We see a lot of requests to duplicate an entry on the front end, or start a new entry from an older entry while still allowing changes to be made before the entry is submitted. This can be done quickly and easily.
Finally, this field type works great for pricing. Use one form to hold all your products, and the lookup field can fetch the prices and add them into a calculation.
The Formidable User Base is Growing Exponentially
We're excited to announce a new partnership with Mojo Marketplace. Formidable is now being autoinstalled on every EIG-owned web host, including Bluehost and Hostgator. Since the autoinstalling began last week, we've watched Formidable climb 10 spots on the popular plugins list. We don't know where this partnership will lead, but we're pleased that the Mojo team chose Formidable.
MOJO Marketplace facilitates the WordPress process for millions of website builders every year. We consistently hear the need for an exceptional plugin to make the form building process easier. Having tried numerous form builders myself and falling in love with Formidable Forms, I knew we could only provide the best for our clients.

As you've already heard, the next shiny new version of Formidable is underway. We are still working on finalizing the Lookup field for v2.01. We also plan to separate the pro and free versions of the plugin to avoid the autoupdating issues we have been seeing on sites hosted with SiteGround. We hope to be able to include this separation in v2.01.
Authorize.net integration is underway. We are expecting to release it in 2-3 months. This will be a full-featured add-on that will include recurring payments, Apple Pay, Visa Checkout, and PayPal Express.
We've got more big plans over the coming months and we'll let you know as they unfold.
