Good news: Our starting price just got lower
We’ve spent a lot of time collecting and analyzing our data, and have found that 62% of those who pay for support don't use it. So why should you pay for something you're not using? You won't pay for support with this lower price option. But if you decide you need it later, you can upgrade your license at any time. So for a majority of folks, we are lowering our starting price by 33%.
It's great news for developers!
Not only is this package great for those independent users with a single site, but it's also geared toward developers building client sites. At times, developers come to us requesting a new license key or a site to be blocked from their license in a last minute attempt to not give away all their hard work to a bad client. Let's face it, sometimes a job goes south. Developers want their license back and clients have no way to log in and access plugin downloads.
Now instead of sharing your own license on all your client accounts, purchase a license for them and pass the cost and login credentials over when the job is done. Then should the time come that you part ways, neither of you end up in hysteria over the status of your license.
In addition to the support usage stats, our analysis brought to light other surprising findings. Of our tens of thousands of users, 99.9% have less than 200 sites, 93% have less than 15 sites, while 59% have 1 site running Formidable Pro.
But those with over 15 sites contact our support team twice as often as those with fewer sites. This data has shown us where to divide our licenses in order to provide the best ongoing service as possible.
Introducing the Elite package
In addition to a new starter package, we’ve added a higher tier: Elite.
This Elite license includes Elite support, a higher level of support than we’ve ever offered before. Our team will be instantly notified of your support tickets, and our top product engineers will be on your case within 4 business hours.
The Elite license also includes the first of our Elite add-on collection: WooCommerce. Authorize.net is in development and will make its entrance into this collection by the end of March. More Elite plugins are planned and you’ll have instant access to all of them.
We are also creating a collection of downloadable style templates for instant form theming. As an Elite user, you can download any of these style templates free, plus all styles we add in the future while your license is current. Have a theme you’d like matched? Just let us know.
A note to existing users
These changes do not affect the terms of your license. The number of sites, level of support, add-ons, and type of updates you originally signed up for will continue without any changes.
So it's clear, that your favourite number is 7 😉
Offer anything "forever" is not a good idea. Plugin - the code is under GPL and open sourced, but provide updated plugin/code forever is already providing support.
Four packages + individual add-ons purchase look confusing little bit for me. Anyway, the last one "Enterprise" looks promising with "elite support" and coming add-ons/styles.
For love of God 😉 do some marketing otherwise not any package or business model will help you 😉 At least, send me an email about new blog post or if my licence expired if I opt-in for that 😉
You're right. We have internal debates on the forever manual updates as well. We're hoping to not have to completely restrict plugin updates to current licenses, but we'll need to give this some time to see if it works or not.
And you're right that we completely drop the ball on sending out communications. Our team is small, and sending emails out is one of those things I never quite get to by the end of the day. I'd still be happy to get a response in your help desk topic a couple months ago.... We do send out license expiration notices, so I'm not sure why you didn't get yours. Sorry about that.
"all future updates" includes "all"

So for me too, I purchased the unlimited license in 2013. And this includes "all", also the enterprise addons and templates. Is it really necessary, that every "grandfathered" user should open its own ticket?
An official statement would be appreciated.
However, I wish both families expecting new babies the best 🙂
"All future updates" is referring to updates on the products that came with your original purchase. New add-ons, applications, style templates, etc. are not considered updates because they are completely separate, new products.
Since existing accounts have not changed, we do not feel we need to send an official statement. You still have access to all of the products and perks that came with your original purchase. Your purchase included all the add-ons that were released at the time of your purchase as well as all future Formidable Pro updates. Your original one-time $97 purchase does not entitle you to every product our company will ever make or sell.
We plan to continue releasing new products which may or may not be offered at an extra charge to you. You are in no way obligated to purchase any of these products.
We are doing what we feel is best for the longevity of our company and for Formidable Pro. Please keep in mind that your original license and purchase has not changed. We truly value our long-time customers and hope you continue to use Formidable Pro and recognize the incredible value that it offers.
Congrats for the Babies Team Formidable! Congrats for all the great work that you and the great results that you are generating. I will be upgrading to Enterprise soon. Literally could not live without your support and your work....not even kidding : )
