Need to create a fillable Facebook form? This tutorial will show you how to add a form to a Facebook page using an easy drag-and-drop plugin.

Having an active Facebook page can be a great complement to any website. You can use that page to share updates, tell followers about offers, and engage with users directly.
And if you're using your social media correctly, you can also gain valuable subscribers. Some ways to do this are through inquiry forms, lead forms, order forms, registration forms, and free contact forms using your Facebook business page. You can even have people donate or RSVP to events through your forms on Facebook.
However, Facebook doesn't come with any software or frameworks to make forms on their site.
That said, learning how to add a form to a Facebook page is easier than you might expect. You can complete this task and many more with the form-building plugin Formidable Forms. While platforms like Instagram and Twitter don't have integration compatibility yet, this form builder tool can help you use forms on WordPress, Facebook, or embed a form on any other site.
By setting up a Facebook page signup form, you can use the social media platform to improve lead generation. After all, a great resource for subscribers and loyal customers can be found in your Facebook fans.
This article will show you how to add a form to a Facebook page using Formidable Forms. Let's get to it!
How do you post a form on Facebook?
To add a Facebook signup form, you need to create custom 'page tabs' on the social media platform.
By default, Facebook lets businesses set up pages such as About or Events using its built-in tools. That said, adding custom page tabs is only available for pages with over 2000 likes. If your page doesn't meet that requirement, you'll need to focus on growing your business page's following and engagement before you create a Facebook form.
Throughout the rest of this tutorial, we'll be using our Formidable Forms Pro plugin with the Formidable API add-on (you need both!). You will also need the Facebook Static HTML app.
How do I add a fillable form to my Facebook page?
To add a fillable form to a Facebook page takes 3 simple steps:
- Create a form
- Set up a custom page on Facebook
- Embed the form
This tutorial doesn't require you to edit any code. However, you will need to copy and paste code snippets from WordPress to Facebook. To get started, you'll need to make a form.
Step 1: Create a form
You may already know how to create a new form using Formidable Forms. Go to the WordPress admin dashboard, and head to Formidable → Forms → Add New.
A window will pop up asking what type of form you want to create:

Formidable Forms lets you choose from multiple form templates and styles. You can also design forms from scratch, depending on your needs.
For a Facebook page, you'll probably want to set up an email signup form or lead collection form that connects to Mailchimp, Mailgun, or whatever email SMTP service you're using:

Formidable Forms lets you drag and drop pre-selected elements onto a form. You can also adjust the flexible form design and functionality with the form Settings tab or through custom HTML. This can be a helpful way to make the form theme match your business's marketing strategy.
Save your Facebook page form once you're happy with it. Now, le7t's move on to the Facebook integration. We'll return for the form's code after making a new Facebook custom page tab.
Step 2: Set up a custom page tab in Facebook
If you have a Facebook business page with over 2,000 likes, you can use the Static HTML app. It enables you to set up new custom page tabs.
First, make sure you're signed in to your Facebook account. Then, go to the Static HTML app page and click on Add Static HTML to a Page:

The app will ask you to select which page you'll add the custom tab to:

Select the Simple Setup option. Then, the app will reload directly to a new custom tab for your page. You'll see two options at the top of the page, one for previewing the tab as a visitor and the other for editing it. Click on the Edit tab button:

A new window will pop up, including a simple code editor. The editor will let you change the static HTML code for index.html:

As we mentioned earlier, you don't need to master coding to embed a Facebook form. All you need is to take the code from the form you made before and paste it into the editor.
Step 3: Add a form to a Facebook page
Return to the WordPress admin dashboard and go to Formidable → Forms. Select the form for the Facebook page you made earlier and open the editor for it.
Once you're inside the editor, look for the Embed button at the top of the screen:

Now select the Insert manually option from the window that will pop up:

On the next page, look for the API Form script field and copy the code within:

Return to the HTML editor for the custom page tab in Facebook and paste that code inside it. There should be no other code in the index.html file at this stage. Your form will be the only element in the Facebook custom page tab.
Save the changes to the file and preview the page as a visitor. Now your Facebook audience can use that signup form to share contact information with you. As soon as a user has filled out the form, the data will go straight to your searchable database!
Note: You can customize the new tab that you set up for your Facebook page in many ways. However, you'll need to know some basics about HTML and CSS to make changes to it.
Add a form to a Facebook page conclusion
Adding a form to a Facebook page is easier than you might think. However, if you want to embed a form, you'll need over 2,000 likes on your Facebook page. Facebook won't let you create custom page tabs to embed external forms without those likes.
Let's recap how to add a form to a Facebook page using Formidable Forms Pro and the Formidable API add-on:
- Create a form.
- Set up a Facebook custom page tab using the Static HTML app.
- Embed your form into the custom page tab.
